READ THE OPEN CALL KUKERLE
Do you have a project that aligns with the theme of Kukerle 2025?
Then you’re ready to apply for Visual Hub’s open call!
The Kukerle call is now open! The first edition will be hosted on the Visual Hub website in May 2025. An intimate gaze into Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The name Kukerle comes from the Triestine dialect word “Cucherle”, meaning the peephole through which one observes the world from inside. And that’s exactly where we want to begin: from small glimpses, hidden details, and unconventional visions that tell the story of our land through fresh perspectives.
The selected works will be published in a downloadable digital catalogue and promoted through Visual Hub’s channels.
Each artist will also have a dedicated space on the Visual Hub website, including a short interview or conversation exploring their creative process, inspirations, and personal vision of the region.
WHO CAN APPLY
Photographers, visual artists, graphic designers, and videomakers who have in their portfolio unique, unconventional visions of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and a project that creatively and originally explores the theme of this edition.
Applications will be accepted until May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM (Italian time).
Why Participate
Selected artists will take part in the first edition of the virtual exhibition Kukerle – SGUARDI DAL FVG, scheduled to launch from Trieste at the end of May 2025. Their works will be featured in a downloadable digital catalogue, available for free.
Each artist will also have a dedicated space on the Visual Hub website, including a short interview or conversation and the publication of their portfolio.
